Tonic
Facial toner is the bridge between cleansing and treatment. In Korean and Japanese routines, this step is not meant to further "cleanse", but to quench the skin and restore it to its ideal pH.
A liquid of varying viscosity that brings the skin back to its optimal pH, prepares the barrier to absorb subsequent products, and begins the process of deep hydration.
The difference between a toner and an essence is often a matter of concentration and texture: toners are generally more liquid and lighter, while essences are more viscous and rich in fermented active ingredients. Both are applied by patting, gently dabbing onto the skin with the palms, to promote absorption. Japanese lotions have a similar function but with their own unique formulation identity, often more nourishing.
In our catalog, you'll find hyaluronic acid toners for hydration, fermented toners for brightness and texture, gentle exfoliating toners with PHA or low-concentration AHA, and soothing toners with Centella Asiatica or Heartleaf for reactive skin.
