Origins and Philosophy

The name RUHAKU combines "Ryukyu" (the ancient name for Okinawa) and "Bihaku" (which means "clear and elastic skin" in Japanese), reflecting the brand's goal of providing even, soft, healthy and toned skin. Founded by Masahiro Sugita, who discovered the benefits of the Gettou plant during a trip to Okinawa, the brand was born out of a desire to create skincare products that would provide relief to his wife Yoko's stressed skin.

Key Ingredients

The RUHAKU line uses the extraordinary antioxidant properties of Gettou leaves (Alpinia Speciosa), an exclusive Okinawa plant with a polyphenol content thirty times higher than that of red wine. Gettou leaves are also known for their antiseptic, antibacterial and aromatic calming effects. Other precious ingredients include sea grapes, argan oil, sesame oil and rose hips, which together help improve the elasticity and firmness of the skin.
